Howden strengthens Board
10.07.0826 November 2007: Howden, the leading independent Lloyd’s broker offering a range of specialist insurances and part of global insurance group Hyperion, has strengthened its UK Board with the appointments of Charlie Langdale and Mike Lobb subject to the approval of the Financial Services Authority.
Managing Director of Howden International, Charlie Langdale is a leading market expert in Bankers Blanket Bond, Crime and Directors’ and Officers’ insurances. A highly respected industry professional, he joined Howden in 2002 after six years at Aon. Since taking responsibility for leading Howden International, the business has more than doubled in size.
Mike Lobb joined Howden three years ago and is currently responsible for the operational management and strategy for the Howden’s direct commercial businesses in the UK. He was previously responsible for business development and client relationship management within the business unit focused on the investment community.
Howden’s Chairman, Richard Elias, comments: “Howden continues to evolve, and it is important that our Board reflects the specific areas of expertise and international focus that make up our strategy. Our operation in the United Kingdom has expanded to include specialist teams focused on specific industry sectors such as the investment community as well as broadening our capabilities into general liability and international property. Our international presence has undergone significant growth and we now have offices in the United States, Latin America, India, Israel, the Nordic region and Southern Europe. The expertise and knowledge that Charlie and Mike bring to our Board will be invaluable as we continue to develop our business both at home and internationally.”
